Workpackage R3: Can Tho University capacity to develop fish genetic selection programmes or breeding schemes is improved and genetic tools/material are available for striped catfish selection.
This workpackage will focus on (i) train 3 PhD students in the fields of fish immunology, fish genetics and socio-economics related to aquaculture; (ii) build capacity in bioinformatics and biostatistics applied to genetic selection in the College of Aquaculture and Fisheries (CAF); and (iii) set up selected bloodstock as a basis for future genetic selection programmes.
